Paris-Roubaix Femmes: Ferrand-Prévost, Borghesi. Basque Country of Almeida

 

In her debut at the cobblestone race, Pauline Ferrand-Prevot is the first Frenchwoman to win Paris-Roubaix Femmes. She attacked from a group of favourites with 25km to go and bridged to Emma Norsggard before dropping the Dane to a solo victory.

In the group behind, Letizia Borghesi (EF Education-Oatly rode away on the final kilometre to take runner-up spot while Lorena Wiebes was third. 

"It was my first Paris-Roubaix Femmes and maybe the last! It's so hard. I just wanted to survive on the cobblestones, I fell. I was sick for the last two days, I wasn't even sure I would participate. I wanted to d my best for Vos."

Break-out ride for Letizia Borghesi, second place. 2023 champion, Alison Jackson sprinted to fifth.

Joao Almeida gets his coveted win and Txapela

UAE Team Emirates dominated the difficult, rain-soaked stage with nearly 4,000 metres of vertical climbing, as Joao Almeida attacked on the reace's hardest ascent, the Cat 1 Izua catching lone breakaway Ben Healy. With 20 kilometres to go, Almeida and Mas raise the pace where he outsprinted the Spaniard for his first WorldTour stage race win.
