Covering 178 kilometers from Mezzolmbardo to Vipiteno with 4,000 meters of climbing, Stage 2 was a true test of the climbers. With just 11 kilometers to go, the Australian Micheal Storer (Tudor Pro Cycling) sprouted his wings with his decisive move to win Stage 2.
"I was feeling really, really good today. In the second half of the stage, I realized I might be the strongest in the group, so I decided to go for it. I didn't look back much, I just put my head down and gave it everything. It's great to be leading now, but we know the race is far from over. We know that we still have three hard stages to go and many high quality riders who also want to win this race."
