TdS: Stage 4 Mountain Goats: Ritccitello and Almeida

 

Joao Almeida won stage 9 of the Tour de Suisse with a 49-kilometre solo flyer, getting himself for a GC comeback on the mountainous route into Piuro, Italy.

"The first two hours were raced at warp speed. It was tough, especially for the small guys, I think. Ultimately, I think that took a bit out of me but the team was great and we were in good position starting the hard part of the climb. The day went well, and we'll keep fighting in the next stages."
