Oscar Onley: A brilliant fourth for the 22-year-old Scotsman
A hillier finale awaited the riders into Rouen. Thanks to Warren Barguil for positioning Oscar Onley as he followed the some of the best of the world as he made it into an elite group of ten approaching the last kilometre. The uphill sprint was 5% to the line where Onley kicked to a brilliant fourth place!
"If you ask me how I'm feeling right now, the answer is probably something that can't be published. Before the stage, we said that if I was in position I should try to get 1st or 2nd going into that final corner. But I was really feeling it in the legs in that final kilometre and that was all I had. I was absolutely dead. When it's fast and fast like that I'd never stay away, especially with Matteo Jorgenson and Joao Almeida there, really strong riders in their own right, doing a job for their leaders. I didn't have much of a chance. It doesent' get much bigger than this in terms of races and competitors so it's nice to be able to prove to myself that I can be there at the top."
