UEC Road European Championships TT: Scorching in France

A week and a half on from her victory in Kigali, the Swiss rider, Marlen Reusser showoff her rainbow bands in southeast France, and added a fourth European title to her palmares. Reusser's winning time of 33:06 at 43.48kph over a 24km course, finished 49 seconds ahead of Norway's Mie Bjorndal Ottestad. Mischa Bredewold (Netherlands) took the bronze medal, two seconds adrift.

"I think it's not something you should take for granted. I was also not sure to win because sometimes it's tight, sometimes somebody has a super-good day and somebody does not. I can also be the one with not a good day. I was not confident that anyway I was going to win this."

Remco Evenepoel sliced his way to victory in the UEC Road European Championships TT, less than two weeks after he won a third world time trial title in a row in Kigali. The Belgian swept up one of the top TT riders, catching minute-man Stefan Kung barely 7km into the TT. Having beaten Ganna and Larsen's best times at all of the time checks, Evenepoel scorched his way into Etoile-sur-Rhone with the winning margin of 43 seconds. He set an average speed of 50.7kph, Ganna in second and Larsen in third. Evenepoel takes his second European Championship time trial victory of his careeer, adding to his 2019 title and he now is the holder of the Olympic, World Championship, European and Belgium ITT titles.
