Jonas Vingegaard delivered a decisive attack on the final climb to take both the stage victory and the overall race lead on Stage 5.
With just under seven kilometres to go, Vingegaard accelerated opening a gap that no one could close. A chasing group formed behind featuring, Florian Lipowitz, Felix Gall, Lenny Martinez and Valentine Paret-Peintre. The Dane finished more than a minute clear. Felix Gall kicked clear of the four-man chase group to finish second, 50 seconds down on Vingegaard and 10 seconds clear of Martinez, Lipowitz and Paret-Peintre.
Vinegegaard is firmly in the lead, with another summit finish at Queralt on Saturday and Barcelona finale on Sunday.
