ARoN: Rocketing to victory Cyclassics Hamburg, Czech Tour

 


Cedrick Bakke Christophersen (Unibet Rose Rockets) won the final stage and his first professional victory  of the Arctic Race of Norway, becoming the tenth-ever Norwegian winner at the race as he made a late move from the group of favorites to take victory in Narvik. Race leader Guillermo Thomas Silva held off challenges on the final climb for the overall victory.

29th edition of Cyclassics Hamburg WorldTour: 205.3-kilometre route with five ascent of the Waseberg climb (700 meters at 10%). Paul Magnier (Soudal) sprinted to victory with Mike Teunissen (XDS Astana second place) and Laurence Pithie (Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe) in third.

“The whole lead-out train helped me to always survive this steep climb every loop. I also felt strong in the last lap to follow the move of Del Toro. I knew I had a really strong lead-out and was really confident in them and super proud to finish it off.”

The 20-year-old, AJ August secured victory at the Czech Tour, with two stage wins and second place on the final stage to claim the GC title.
