He's a crazy descender

Spaniard Pello Bilbao won the Queen stage of the Tour of the Alps in Pieve di Bono, Italy beating Aleksandr Vlasov and Simon Yates. Yates and Vlasov took the lead at the last climb with eight kilometers from the line and seemed to be on their way to battle for victory.

But the descending skills and risk taking abilities of the Basque rider eventually caught up during an ultra-technical descent to join them and win the climber's sprint of three.

"I knew it was perfect finish for me. Despite the few seconds delay, I knew I could get back on the descent. It's not the type of downhill to do everyday, you can't always take this type of risk but it was not a day like any other."
- Pello Bilbao, Bahrain Victorious 2nd of GC,  dedicates his victory to Italian Michele Scarponi who died four years ago to the day.

"Bilbao was the only one I didn't want to finish on the descent with. But overall, it's still a good day."
-Simon Yates
