La Vuelta: Underdog Turner turns it on, Gaudu in Roja

Ben Turner (Ineos Grenadiers) won for the first time in two years at the Tour de Pologne, and wasn't even scheduled to race La Vuelta. He had to scramble from Belgium after two days of racing last week's Renewi Tour to replace Lucas Hamilton.

The 26-year-old shocked the alpha sprinters to take victory on stage 4, winning his maiden Grand Tour stage in Voiron, France. The uphill drag to the line was expected to be a bunch sprint made the sprint harder than expected, and it was the underdog Turner passing favorite Philipsen to win.

"I don't know what to say to be honest! It's a crazy week, like super crazy! I wanted to come to the Vuelta. The team sent me to Renewi and then they said they did need me. Of course I said yes, I'd do anything to race these races. I was devasted after the first sprint my chain came off. I really believed in myself today. I felt really good all day. I don't know what to say, just thank you to the boys. Winning in Poland and now here. I just had the best guys around me, and we really trusted in what I had to do. It just came perfect. The last metres felt so long... It's just amazing."
